Weight Loss Tips that Will Really Make you Lose Weight

From the moment you wake up, to the moment you go to sleep, you are bombarded with different food choices. Even when you are not thinking of food, it is offered to you through advertising, billboards, music you hear, and on movies you watch. No wonder, it is so hard to lose weight. Today, we have thousands of food options, and all thanks to world globalization. Most of these foods taste great, and that is why people have such a terrible time, trying to make the right food choices. It is just too easy, to reach out and select whatever is available, but this is what is causing obesity. Not “thinking” before eating causes you to make the wrong food choices. To lose that weight, eat healthier, stay healthy, and avoid diseases like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, and other problems related to Obesity, you need to stop, analyze and think about the foods you decide to eat.

The good news is, that just as there are many “wrong” choices easily available, there are also many adequate, and tasty “right” choices available too. These ” right choices” are usually ones, you probably don´t even think of, and instead just grab the first thing that is available. This is why we have put together the following tips will help you make those “right” choices for lfe.

Eliminate the “Junk” Food from your Home

The first thing you need to do, is to eliminate the wrong foods from your home. If you dont have any sugary sweets, foods high in carbohydrates, cookies, cake, or fatening foods around, you are less likely to eat the wrong foods. After you get rid of these foods, then you surely dont want to buy any more of them. There is a simple solution to that problem too. Never go to the grocery store on an empty stomach. If you shop when you are hungry, you are more likely to buy foods that require little, or no preparation, that are high in calories, and are comfort foods.

Dont Get Rid of All the Snacks

Keep some kind of low fat snack available. This way when you do feel those munchies coming on, you make a good food choice. Good examples, are low fat yoghurt, fruits, a little low fat ice cream. This doesnt mean, you can “splurge” all the time. But use these foods for special treats. This way you wont feel like you are making a big sacrifice all the time.

Don’t Work Near the Food

If you are in the habit of working on the computer in the kitchen, or reading or doing other activities in the kitchen, where you often snack, then change your work place. Start working in the living room or the bedroom where it is harder to grab that “snack.”

Don’t Go on a Guilt Trip if You do Fail

When you do go off your diet, or, eat the wrong foods, don´t beat yourself up about it. Don´t get depressed and go on an eating binge, instead think healthily and get right back on track. So, you made a slight mistake! So, what! If you go right back to your diet and eating healthily, nothing will happen. But, if you give up, and get depressed, then you wont continue losing weight and you will give up. Just admit to your bad eating decision and get right back on track.

Practice Healthy Habits

If you know you won´t have time to go home to fix yourself something to eat, pack your lunch for work. You will not only be eating healthier, but just think of all the money you will save too. When you don´t have time to pack your lunch, then always have some kind of alternative ready. Go to a slightly better restaurant and have a healthy lunch instead of a fast food hamburger. Stay away from places that have those foods you crave, but know are unhealthy and high in fat.
When you go out to eat, serve yourself a third less than you normally do, or choose smaller portions, share a plate with someone, and remember to chew your food thoroughly. The slower you eat, the faster you will feel full.

Drink Lots of Water

Most people seriously under estimate the power of water. When you drink water your skin looks better, you feel more energized and you start flushing those toxins and fat out of your body. Getting 8 glasses of water a day will help you really eliminate that fat. The water will also keep you from getting hungry, and when you do eat, the water will help you eat less than you normally would.

Reward Yourself - But Not with Food

For every pound you lose or every clothing size you go down, give yourself some kind of reward, and praise yourself for what you have done. Just make sure that the reward is not food oriented. For example, you could buy yourself that great pair of shoes you saw.

Don´t Forget to Get that Exercise

Exercise can be fun, and it doesn´t have to be tedious. Find something that you like to do. Take that ballroom dance class. Go on those hiking expeditions. There are all kinds of things you can do to get active, even jump around and dance at home. You can swim, hike, walk, dance, take aerobics. It really doesn´t matter what you chose to do, just get moving. Remember, you can start out slow, and then make your routine more intense as you begin losing weight, and as you get into better shape.

Hopefully the above tips have helped you understand the way your body works and how to stay away from foods that only make you gain weight, and don´t help you lose it. Be sure to plan your meals, drink water and get some exercise. You will soon be feeling much better, and life will start smiling down on you.

It’s right to the point. If you got 2 minutes now, read this article and learn how to effectively lose weight fast.

Diet for Idiots

1. Have at least 1 soup and 1 salad each day before meals

Soups and salads are filling, yet they contain few calories. (One note… please make the soup from scratch since most canned soups have too many useless calories and ingredients). The purpose of these soups and salads have to do with CALORIE BLOCKING. Basically, they block out calories from the meals because you will get full sooner and thus eat less of the meal. Pretty simple and to the point, yeah? So make it happen.

2. Use lentils and black beans as side dish fillers for meals

Ok, these 2 foods are SUPERFOODS in my book. They’re both packed with lots of fiber and protein and they’re CHEAP! These bad boys fill you up big time. As you can tell, I’m still allowing you to eat your normal foods… I’m just making it so you eat less of them without you even trying to eat less. If you can get in 1 can of black beans each day and or 4 ounces of lentils… you’re well on your way to losing plenty of weight.

3. Snacks that work for weight loss

These snacks either have fiber or protein in them. Not the simple sugar carbs that most junk foods have. Top choices as far as I’m concerned… apples, beef jerky, yogurts, or string cheese. Plenty of variety there. Hope that solves the boredom factor.

Using these 3 diet guidelines for weight loss, this is the ultimate diet for idiots.

If you’re SICK and TIRED of getting the same old boring weight loss advice… you know, like “Eat more fruits and vegetables, drink 8 glasses of water, jog, and Blah Blah Blah”, then…

A Hypothyroidism Diet - It’s Not Only About Weight Loss

So, you have hypothyroidism and you might be thinking “What’s the use of being on a diet for hypothyroidism? I won’t be able to lose any weight”. You may be right. Maybe you are one of the few that doesn’t respond to treatment or doesn’t diet well. But, there is a good chance that you may be wrong and I’m willing to bet that you are. I am also willing to bet that given enough time and effort you will be able to achieve any realistic weight loss goals that you set for yourself.

But, for a minute let’s assume that you are right and you can’t lose any weight.  Why should that end your quest to be a healthy person? Why would you just give up on yourself like that?

There is more to being healthy than just fitting into size 5 clothing.  Do you realize that if you don’t take care of yourself that there are worse diseases out there than hypothyroidism? In fact, there may be a link between hypothyroidism and these other diseases.

If you allow yourself to fall into the trap of “Why even bother?” over time your health will deteriorate and you will feel even worse.

But, if you need some additional motivation I’ll give you just a few reasons why a hypothyroidism diet is not just about losing weight. Heart disease and diabetes does not care if you’re hypothyroid or not.  Neither does colon, lung or breast cancer.  If you don’t start to take care of yourself you could make that hypothyroidism link to other diseases a cold harsh reality.

You may never be a size 5 but you can still have a healthy cardiovascular system. You may still have some “love handles” but you still will be able to participate in your favorite activity or sport even if it’s just chasing your child around the yard without getting winded. I’m willing to bet that your family doesn’t care that you are not a size 5. I’m also sure that they do care to have you around for a long time and healthy too.

I can come up with any number of reasons why you should be on a diet for hypothyroidism but you ultimately have to come up with your own. You have to ask yourself what is important to you. Being a size 5 or being health? Only you can answer that question? The choice is yours make it a wise one and remember that being on a hypothyroidism diet is not only about weight loss.

Coconut Oil for Weight Loss

I’m willing to bet that during your whole life, you’ve been on some kind of diet programs before.

And most of these diet programs warn you to stay off fat, especially saturated fat because it’s rock-solid and difficult to break down to be used as energy for your body, thus can easily add pounds to your weight.

Furthermore, fat supplies 9 calories per gram, twice as much as that from protein and carbohydrate.

Generally, fat stays in fat cells until the time when physical activity exceeds energy reserves and then fat is removed from storage to be used for fuel.

So unless you are the sporty type who exercises actively and control your overall caloric intake, you won’t be able to shake off the excess calories from saturated fat so easily.

Admittedly, most of us are not that disciplined when it comes to our lifestyles.

When you think of saturated fat, what comes to your mind?

Dairy products (especially cream, cheese, butter and ghee), animal fats, coconut oil, palm oil and chocolate. Many people, including doctors, nutritionists and dietitians actually believe the saturated fat in coconut oil to be as bad as that in animal fat and other vegetable oils.

Now, that’s truly a misconception.

Saturated fat in coconut oil, or commonly referred to as medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), reacts differently from other fats in your body. The MCFAs travel along the bloodstream straight to the liver, where they are immediately processed and converted into energy, just like carbohydrate or protein.

They will not be stored as fat.

Being smaller in size, MCFAs yield fewer calories than other fats - only 6.8 calories per gram. This means if you replace other oils with coconut oil, you’ll benefit from lower caloric intake.

That’s not all. The energy converted from MCFAs actually stimulates your metabolism.

Why Metabolism So Important to Weight Loss

Because the ultimate success of weight loss is to be able to burn more calories than your caloric intake continuously in the long run.

And the key to success is metabolism. You need to induce your metabolism to burn calories at all times. Simply put, the more boost up your metabolism, the more calories you can burn.

Regular exercise is a proven way to increase your metabolism effectively. Eating coconut oil can further elevate your metabolic activity due to its plentiful MCFAs.

MCFAs boost your metabolism by creating a thermogenic (or calorie-burning) effect where it burns more calories at an accelerated rate to produce more heat. First, it used up the calories from other nutrients before turning to the fatty tissues for more calories to burn. Hence, you’re able to burn unwanted fat faster than you expected.

While MCFAs are at work, you’ll feel warmer and full of vitality, mentally and physically for at least 24 hours.

But it’s not like caffeine. If you’re a caffeine addict, you’re no stranger to the perk-up feeling after your regular dose of coffee, tea or soft drinks containing caffeine.

Such effect is like a roller coaster since the “high” feelings often lasted for a few hours only. It comes as fast as it goes. Once you feel your concentration falters and your lethargy returns, you can’t help but reach for another boost of caffeine.

Gradually, your tolerance to effects of caffeine increases and you need to drink more and more of caffeine-laced drinks in order to stay alert. Consequently, you feel drained. Although caffeine also increases metabolism, it can lead to increased hunger or cravings for sweets and cause you to overeat.

Studies have shown that caffeine can cause chronic fatigue, depression, irregular palpitations, osteoporosis, insomnia and gastro-intestinal tract problems.
Unlike caffeine, energy boost from MCFAs is subtler and long lasting. It won’t create side effects like caffeine do.

Why Fad Diet Programs Flop

Many low-fat or no-fat diet programs backfire because food tastes bland without fats. Those who go on low-fat diets lose weight initially but gain it all back and even more when they’re off the diet after a while.

It already takes a great deal of willpower to remove fat totally from our diet for a short time but most of us aren’t willing to skip fat for the rest of our lives, not to mention the adverse effects of fat deficiency on our health.

So instead of removing fat altogether, why not replace it with a better fat like coconut oil, that doesn’t contribute to weight gain but instead helps you lose more unwanted body fat permanently?

You don’t have to starve or stick to a fixed diet pattern. Just stick to a sensible, nutritious diet. But do remember to include coconut oil as a significant part of your diet.

It’ll all turn out naturally without you ever knowing the shedding of pounds off your body.

Coconut oil is one powerful natural healing remedy that money-minded doctors and pharmaceutical companies with vested interest don’t want you to know. Dig up more shocking facts about the coconut oil health benefits and watch how it changes your shape and life completely!
