Weight lost doing a fad diet is generally regained quickly when you return to your normal eating patterns.
  • Brand Name Weight Loss Programs - You know the Weight Loss TV ads with celebrity endorsements and amazing introductory offers. These programs hold so much promise yet fall short for so many. The Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem programs have the right idea yet don’t get the right message across to their clients. To lose weight, you need to watch what you are eating and understand how your body uses the food. These meal programs are calorie / size reduced diets yet fail to teach you why. Many of my clients have come from these programs when they tried two or more times, lost the weight yet regained it after leaving. Basically you are just eating with these programs and not learning what you need to obtain sustainable weight reduction. Another brand name in the weight loss industry is Weight Watchers. Like Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem, they provide a meal program diet. It has the same limitations as the first two yet they provide meetings where you learn about weight loss. This is a step in the right direction but many of my clients that came from this program quit due to the cost of the program and meetings. Yes they charge per meeting (Ouch).
  • Weight Loss Training Programs - For many of my clients that are looking to lose weight and are not interested in building muscle or doing extensive exercise, this is the type of program that I suggest to them. Any diet can tell you what to eat yet a weight loss training program will help you learn why you need to eat healthy and how to do it every day where ever you might be without the need for pre-packaged diet meals. Clients that have been on these types of programs generally start losing 2-5 lbs of fat weight the first week and continue to lose 2-3 lbs each week thereafter. I have seen even greater weight loss from some clients yet the numbers above are around the average. When you have reached your weight loss goals with these type of programs, you should be more aware of your eating habits, what you body truly needs and never need to diet again.

 

When it comes to losing weight there are many different and lofty claims. You might have even tried some of these weight reduction miracles or programs only not to achieve the results you were promised. What I can say to you is, if you want to lose your fat belly, you need to LEARN how to lose weight and you will never need to go on a diet ever again.
