Most articles about weight loss are written to support your efforts to lose weight , but out there in Realityland are some who prefer you just as you are, not a “new slim you”.  They are the “weight loss saboteurs”. They can be found in the workplace, at school or college and even at home. And if you are trying to lose weight have to deal with them!
Who are they? They come in many guises.

* “Friends” who are envious of your stand. (Real friends give you support).
*  Partners who feel threatened.
* “Whisperers” with nothing better to do.
*  Mockers who fail to understand the reasons for losing weight. Pity them. They know not what they do.
* Thoughtless children, both young and grown-up.

What can you do? How do you overcome these powerful negative vibes, which have been the downfall of many personal weight loss programs. (One way, if you are having trouble, is to join a weight loss group. That will give you positive support which counteracts the negative vibes). Taking this step is often money well spent.

If you are going it alone, you should work out strategies for yourself, because each case is different. Here are a few suggestions. What do you say to envious people – perhaps in your workplace, who constantly snipe, and offer you unwanted food and calorie laden “goodies”? `
Ask them politely to respect your wishes, and give you help or…
Put them to shame – ask if THEY want to join you in the battle of the bulge or…
